Uber Eats / month NZ$720
DoorDash / month NZ$240
Delivereasy / month NZ$176

Hypothetical scenario. Realistically you keep some marketplace traffic for discovery. Even a partial shift (say, half your marketplace volume to direct) recoups most of the marketplace cost in the first year.

Defaults reflect publicly known NZ marketplace rates as of May 2026: Uber Eats Delivery plan ~30%, DoorDash NZ ~30%, Delivereasy ~22%. Individual contracts vary — adjust the rate fields to match your actual deal. The SmakSpace flat fee is the published NZD subscription on /pricing.

Calculator FAQ

Questions about how the numbers work.

Default commission rates reflect publicly known NZ marketplace pricing as of May 2026 — Uber Eats Delivery plan ~30%, DoorDash NZ ~30%, Delivereasy ~22%. Your actual contract may have negotiated lower rates, sponsorship tiers, or service-tier variations. Edit the rate inputs to match your real numbers and the calculator updates in real time.
The revenue input is treated as the gross amount the customer pays (the figure on the marketplace order). Commission is calculated against this gross. GST on the commission itself adds another 15% on the commission line (so a NZ$5,000 commission month is actually ~NZ$5,750 once GST on the commission is included). For headline planning the gross-commission number is usually sufficient.
Professional is the SmakSpace tier that bundles direct online ordering with kitchen display, bookings and loyalty — the realistic feature set you'd need to replace a marketplace as your customer-facing ordering channel. Starter NZ$49/mo is fine if you only need QR ordering. Enterprise NZ$179/mo adds multi-location and advanced analytics. Toggle the tier in the calculator to see how each compares.
Usually not entirely. The realistic move is hybrid — keep marketplace listings for discovery (new customers who haven't found you yet), but actively convert that traffic to your direct channel via in-store signage, packaging inserts and post-meal SMS follow-up. Even a 50% shift to direct ordering typically recoups the marketplace cost in the first year. The defaults are derived from each platform's publicly published NZ merchant material as of May 2026. We don't publish or hold contract-specific data for individual operators. The calculator is a planning tool, not an authoritative quote — always check the specific terms in your current marketplace agreements before making cost decisions.
